Vegan Nutella / Chocolate Hummus

This vegan chocolate hummus is definitely redefining the snacking game. It makes a delicious vegan Nutella alternative, is low in fat and sugar, and yet rich in flavor and texture. You can have it with fresh fruit or simply as a healthy chocolate spread.

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas (400 g)

  • 4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 5 tbsp agave nectar (plus more if you prefer for it to be sweeter)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 85 ml coconut milk (or a different milk alternative)

  • pinch of salt

  • optionally: chopped nuts for garnish

Method

  1. Strain and rinse chickpeas thoroughly.

  2. Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor (you can also use a stand mixer). Mix until an even mixture comes together.

  3. Add more agave nectar, if you prefer the chocolate hummus sweeter.

  4. Optionally garnish with chopped nuts and serve with fruit or use as a spread on bread or rice cakes.
