Homemade Garlic Spread

garlic_jar.jpg

Garlic makes the food world a better place. It adds that extra flavour to so many dishes. What would fish or steak be without it? And of course, there is garlic bread… With this homemade garlic spread, you will experience garlic bread 2.0. It only takes 4 ingredients to make it and I can only warn you it is dangerously addictive. At 110 °C oven temperature, the garlic gets slow-cooked in olive oil and the rosemary adds additional flavour to it. Choose high-quality olive oil for the best possible taste.

Ingredients
For 1 medium-sized jar

  • 200 g garlic

  • 200 ml olive oil

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 3 rosemary springs

  1. Preheat oven to 110 °C.

  2. Peel 200 g garlic cloves and place them into a baking dish.

  3. Add 200 ml olive oil, 3 rosemary strings, 1 tsp salt. Make sure all is covered by oil.

  4. Place on middle oven rack and slow bake on 110 °C for 2 hours.

  5. The garlic is ready when you can easily crush them with a fork.

  6. Let it cool down and fill it into a jar. If you keep the garlic refrigerated, it should last for two weeks.
