Chilli-Prawn Dumplings

Ingredients
40 dumplings

  • 40 dumpling wrappers

  • 150 g prawns

  • 100 g napa cabbage

  • 2 spring onions

  • 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 3 tbsp sesame oil

For garnish

  • Crunchy onions

  • 1 spring onion

  • Sesame seeds

  • Chilli Oil

Method

  1. Finely chop 150 g prawns, 100 g napa cabbage, and 2 spring onions (set 1 spring onion aside for garnish). Transfer all to a bowl and mix well with the ginger, soy sauce and sesame oil.

  2. Place 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper. Dip your index finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the dumplings as demonstrated in the images below (or in the reel).

  3. To steam the dumplings, line a steaming basket with a piece of cabbage. You can use a sieve if you don’t have a steaming basket. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan and place the steaming basket or sieve over it. Steam the dumplings for about 10 minutes.

  4. To serve, top the dumplings with chopped spring onion, crunchy onions, sesame seeds, and drizzle with chilli oil.

Enjoy your homemade dumplings!
